Russian Festivals Men's Day |
February 23 is Soldier's Day, known until recently as Soviet Army Day, popularly viewed as a holiday for all men and closely followed by its female counter-part, Women's Day, March 8, when women receive flowers, presents and are toasted by men.
Men's Day is February 23, the Army Day. All men in Russia are liable for call-up including reservists. On this day women usually give men small gifts. It's strange, but the holiday is not so widely and cheerfully celebrated as Women's Day.
