November 7 is the anniversary of the socialist revolution of October 1917 which established communist power it still survives. The system is gone, but many still cling to the custom.
November 7 is the "Day of Accord and Reconciliation", formerly the Day of October revolution which was 25 October according to the old calendar. It is an official holiday though only 50% of the population don't know what holiday it is now.
